Account Supervisor (Brand Communications)
PMK• BNC‘s New York Brand Communications practice is seeking a dynamic Account Supervisor to manage top-tier media and influencer relations for high-profiles clients in national consumer technology . This is an opportunity to work with some of today’s most innovative global companies that are shaping the future of technology.
This individual will bring a verifiable track record of developing and implementing successful, integrated PR strategies, including breakthrough media relations, and leveraging social media and influencers. This individual is also passionate about innovation and technology.
This person has excellent people-management skills and has mastered the client/agency process. She/he will bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the account and inspirational style to managing the team.
Ideal candidate will have strong experience in the consumer technology category successfully leveraging brand initiatives, entertainment partnerships, brand history/narrative and creative programming through PR and social media, generating measurable results against client goals.
Viable candidates can point to specific experience successfully leading their teams in the planning, development and execution of best-in-class, multi-channel PR programs including media relations, social media outreach, brand positioning, content development, talent engagement, budget management and client/account management.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Organizational, Tactical, and Communication Skills: Takes accountability for actions; Is solutions oriented and understands how to best prioritize tasks or assignments; Demonstrates a high level of organizational skills; Meets deadlines; Sees projects through to completion; Great attention to detail; Confidence and competency in reviewing team work product; Articulates ideas succinctly and is comfortable with public speaking and presentations
• Client Relations: Key contributor or owner of projects and programs; Builds trust with client contact and teams; Professional demeanor; Able to analyze and contextualize information and begin to form strategic recommendations
• Media Relations: Draft pitches; Pitches media, Manages media calls, review and edits briefing materials; Identifies appropriate media targets (with a large emphasis on digital media); Builds media relationships on behalf of the clients and agency; Owns media opportunities from start to finish
• Excellent writing and editing skills; Able to write and edit materials and provide direction to ensure quality control
• Account Management: Displays attention to detail across all team work product; reviews and finalizes materials; mentors AAE and Intern growth and development; leads programs as assigned
• Work with peers to further the mission, goals and culture of the agency
Required Experience and Skills:
• 7 years minimum PR experience, agency or in-house (with agency/consumer tech experience preferred)
• Strong media relations expertise--you can demonstrate skills and existing relationships with local and national business writers and mainstream consumer tech media (from outlets such as the AP, Reuters, USA Today, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Forbes, TIME, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, Mashable, The Verge, re/code, Huffington Post, TODAY, Bloomberg, etc.)
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, and I mean excellent.
• Experience managing day-to-day relationships between clients and potential partners, influencers, and the media
• Ability to manage team members
• Trade show experience a plus; uto experience a MAJOR plus
• Excellent knack for storytelling
• Passionate about consumer tech and innovation, and how technology is shaping our lives
• Large brand experience working within the lifestyle media category is required
• Track record of successfully developing media strategies, identifying story angles, developing press materials and securing top tier coverage for clients
• Successful in managing multiple short- and long-term plans simultaneously
• Experience engaging mid- to senior-level clients
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Public Relations or Marketing preferred
• Six to eight years of media relations experience; agency/client experience is a plus
