Program Development Coordinator
Position Description
This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Executive Producer of Program Development and National Productions for PBS SoCaL and will assist with the development, packaging, delivery and promotion of all PBS SoCaL local acquisitions and national productions.
Essential Functions
Assist with project management of designated PBS SoCaL acquisitions, co-productions, and national productions from initial submission to delivery
Interact with program producers and distributors
Work with producers and editors on program packaging and deliverables such as on-air offers, web tag, underwriting credits, production credits, technical specifications, captioning, etc. to ensure producer, station, and distributor needs are met
Position includes some program review and critique, as it relates to PBS editorial standards and FCC rules
Assist with coordination of legal and business affairs/accounting documentation for program management
Develop and maintain production project files for national productions when engaged in a presenting station relationship
Assist with providing program information to distributors of PBS SoCaL National Productions
Development and implementation of new systems and processes which will enhance Program Development and National productions services
Provide guidance to other departments that will assist in the execution of contract requirements for PBS SoCaL local acquisitions and national productions
Obtain promotional resources from producers and assist with research/writing of press materials, including the building of program splash page and VIMEO site
Track national carriage of programming and update/inform clients on status
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Film/TV/ Media or related field
Experience managing or producing programming, preferred
High degree of organization, detail oriented and self-motivated
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment
Skilled in project management from conception to follow through in a timely manner
Knowledge of public broadcasting guidelines for programming, preferred
Ability to perform content review and critique programming
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and the ability to work well with diverse personalities
Experience using Microsoft Office and basic online platforms
