Freelance inquiries only. Ovation is currently seeking a detail-oriented digital content manager to service weekly programming release schedules and populate network initiatives across Ovation owned and operated digital properties, including OvationTV.com and TVE devices on Roku, Apple, Android. The ideal candidate has experience working with a content management system or other video syndication platforms, and is passionate about quality content. Additionally, the candidate should have expertise in how digital channels are promoted and dressed to attract users, followers, and subscribers.
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the content operations for our growing digital video practice. This role reports to the Vice President of Digital. We are looking for a team player who also has the ability to take initiative and own an entire project on their own without heavy supervision.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively work with production and creative teams to service weekly programming release schedules
- Populate ''Content Calendar'' weekly and work with on-air marketing on approvals and priority ranking
- Works closely on-air promotions and marketing to understand goals and support iniatiatives
- Manage our digital video promotions library, working closely with our Media Services department to ensure proper video storage and backup
- Create and manage all video metadata: titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and any other show deliverables
- Manage content syndication feeds including: schedule, landing pages, curation
- Collaborate with the social media team to communicate department needs
TVE
• Manage the publishing process across TVE CMS content - uploading, writing copy for title, description, keywords for SEO, thumbnail development, etc...
• Manage and optimize all aspects of TVE - manage layout, playlists, featured sections, graphics, Meta Data, series pages, microsites
• Convert file formats
• Ensure weekly feeds are rendering according to programming updates
OVATIONTV.COM
• Manage and optimize all aspects of OvationTV.com - manage video embed codes, thumbnails, page layout, user comments, hero slider, meta data social copy, etc…
• Manage content for tent-pole series landing pages
• Monitor website performance and QA daily schedule updates
• Research and write copy for approved topics and manage embed codes and social share copy and thumbnails
SKILLS
• CMS experience, including an understanding of Wordpress and various plug-in's
• Strong project and asset management
• Ability to learn and understanding of digital performance metrics and analytics
• Working understanding of video and channel best practices in a digital/streaming media environment
• Proficiency in writing quality on-brand short form content
• Ability to multi-task, while organizing, prioritizing and structuring workload
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills with a proven ability to develop well-written documents and presentation
• Ability to understand and interpret video analytics and other user data/metrics
• Strong affinity for digital media, emerging platforms, and video distribution
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and within changing schedules
• Meticulous and organized, strong time-management skills
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of experience working in content management with a major publisher, broadcaster, distributor, or other media company
- 2-3 years of managing video in a CMS or video syndication platform like YouTube, Brightcove, Ooyala, Quello, etc.
- 1-2 years of experience in using Wordpress
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, etc.), Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Basic knowledge of video editing software such as Avid or Premiere
