Ovation is currently seeking a detail-oriented digital content manager to oversee our video library, as well as our expanding digital/OTT platforms. The ideal candidate has experience working with a content management system or other video syndication platform, and is passionate about quality content. The ideal candidate will be familiar with both digital streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, Acorn TV) and devices (Roku, Chromecast, and Apple TV). Additionally, the candidate should have expertise in how digital channels are curated, programmed, and promoted to attract users, followers, and subscribers.
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the content operations for our emerging digital travel network. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Content Partnerships who will be working closely with you to provide overall network strategy in regards to programming, scheduling, talent, and distribution. We are looking for a team player who also has the ability to take initiative and own an entire project on their own without heavy supervision.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report directly to the Sr. Director of Content Partnerships to execute and support departmental goals and initiatives
- Work closely with content partners and producers to ensure a smooth content and asset delivery process
- Manage our digital video library, working closely with our Media Services department to ensure proper video ingestion and storage
- Watch full-length movies, series, and other short form video, both for quality control purposes as well as creative notes
- Provide constructive notes and feedback for preditors in order to lock programming for publishing
- Create and manage all video metadata: titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and any other show deliverables
- Manage content syndication feeds including: schedule, landing pages, curation
- Collaborate with the social media team to communicate department needs
- Periodic research on possible content acquisitions, talent, or producers
SKILLS
- Strong project, content or asset management skills and experience
- Working understanding of video and channel best practices in a digital/streaming media environment
- Ability to understand and interpret video analytics and other user data/metrics
- Ability to multi-task, while organizing, prioritizing and structuring workload
- Strong affinity for digital media, emerging platforms, and video distribution
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within tight budgets and deadlines
- Meticulous and organized, strong time-management skills
- A background in any travel-related projects/industries is a plus
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-3 years of experience working in content management with a major publisher, broadcaster, distributor, or other media company
- 2-3 years of managing video in a CMS or video syndication platform like YouTube, Brightcove, Ooyala, Quello, etc.
- Excellent knowledge in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, etc.), Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Basic knowledge of video editing software such as Avid or Premiere
