Alchemy is a leading independent distributor of film and television content across all platforms and windows in North America. The company develops tailored distribution strategies across all platforms, from theatrical release to DVD, digital, VOD, and television and also has the largest footprint of any independent supplier to bricks and mortar businesses. It is also the leading supplier to digital platforms including iTunes, Netflix and VOD.
The company is currently recruiting for the Director of VMI to oversee supply-chain management and analysis in order to manage the flow of inventory into Walmart, Best Buy, Sam's Club and Kmart.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of VMI is responsible for oversight of all supply-chain management activities that monitor the production cycle to meet customer inventory needs (and increase product sales), which in turn improves cash flow, reduces customer returns and refusals, and improves customer service. Utilizes sales activity information and product demand history to generate forecasts, make adjustments, and plan for inventory replenishment via standard electronic data interchange (EDI) documents. The Director will oversee a team whose responsibilities will include:
• Create and revise POS forecasts to drive model stocks based on a thorough and intelligent analysis of current sales, product history and market trends.
• Monitor new release performance to create reaction orders and adjust model stocks and forecasts accordingly.
• Analyze sales data in order to reduce returns and maximize sales.
• Partner with Alchemy sales team to provide useful and actionable feedback on sales and business trends in order to lead the category and help retailers get the best sales for all our titles.
• Create and distribute useful and clear post-mortem analysis for all new releases and promotions in order to help the company make the best decisions based on actual, current-day market trends.
• Collaborate with inventory and product management teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years VMI, category management, and/or retail inventory management experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. Home Video experience a plus.
• Prior VMI experience with a major retailer such as Best Buy or Wal-Mart a plus.
• Experience with replenishment software. Experience with Vision Information Systems software a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Access.
• Strong forecasting, analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
