Olive Films is an independent Chicago-based film studio specializing in art-house and classic Hollywood film distribution. We are looking only for exceptional candidates with deep understanding, appreciation and experience of film with a passion for media and public relations. The ideal candidate to join our Marketing department is ambitious, enthusiastic, creative and an effective problem solver.
Individuals interested in the position should be able to speak and write clearly and persuasively and demonstrate an interest in the film industry. The tasks and challenges of this job are highly people-oriented - therefore assertiveness and an outgoing personality are a must.
The marketing coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks that will range from brand positioning to press outreach.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Plan, develop and implement marketing strategies as well as active research for new marketing ideas
-Must be able to seek out, coordinate and manage talent related to film releases for possible radio/TV appearances, media interviews and potential special events
-Coordinate email communications with customers via bi-weekly and monthly newsletters
-Track, analyze and report on the success of marketing efforts
-Coordinate and maintain all online marketing efforts, including the Olive Films website and blog, social media (Facebook, Twitter) and online news coverage from digital and traditional media (newspaper, radio and print materials)
-Analyzing and maintaining Olive Films' social media presence in accordance with the growing and changing online audience
-Must have the ability to maintain, update and implement organizational communication materials including press packets, re-prints of articles and online reviews and newspaper reviews to be used for collateral materials
-Network with and answer enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations (telephone, email and in person)
-Aiding in maintenance and updating information on the company's website, blog and social media
-Supporting the overall essential tasks of the Marketing and Publicity team as assigned, including but not limited to shipping, tracking and updating publicity and marketing materials and other tasks as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
-2-3 years of professional marketing experience
-Knowledge of local and national media
-Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
-Strong research skills
-Outstanding interpersonal skills
-Able to masterfully handle various personalities with tact, professionalism and diplomacy
-Excel, Access, Photoshop, and InDesign experience is a plus
Education
-Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field is preferred
