The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the balancing of monthly payroll activity and exercises quality control over the output of payroll. Additionally this position oversees tax filings, responds to payroll inquiries, and assists with miscellaneous accounting related activities.
Responsibilities:
· Process payroll using Workday payroll and Nettime Time & Attendance systems.
· Process employee data (new hires, changes, additional earnings) from the HR system of record to the payroll system.
· Process employee time & attendance data from the time system to payroll and reconcile variances utilizing tools in the time and payroll systems.
· Provide customer service to employees, in the area of pay, benefits and taxes as they relate to their pay.
· Assist the benefits manager in reconciling benefits related invoices to payroll system information prior to authorizing payment.
· Prepares distribution of payroll costs by department to facilitate proper expense flow and for budget purposes.
· Sets up, controls and maintains employee garnishments, levies and wage assignments.
· Develops payroll procedures manuals and process narratives.
· Conducts audits to assure compliance with internal controls, including manual check audits.
· Oversees federal and state tax filings including withholding taxes, unemployment, Social Security, Medicare, Disability and miscellaneous taxes.
· Submission of 401k contributions and assists with 401k audits.
· Coordinates and assembles payroll reports for the preparation of various tax returns.
· Handles complex inquiries from employees and outside agencies regarding payroll matters.
· Assists in coordinating Payroll section activities so that information provided to outside regulatory authorities and appropriate departments within the company is produced in a timely and accurate manner.
· Assist with the reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and perform analysis as needed.
Requirements:
· 5+ years of Payroll experience. Workday payroll experience a plus.
· BA or AA in Accounting or related field required.
· Proven attention to detail and an ability to work under tight deadlines.
· Experience handling with difficult, sensitive and confidential issues.
· Excellent customer service, organizational, time management and prioritization abilities.
· Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
· Proficient in Windows, Word and Excel.
