O'Connor Casting Company's internship program is designed to educate actors, college students or anyone who is serious about learning the casting process. Interns' responsibilities range from organizing actors during auditions, calling agents, sorting headshots, assisting in the office and in audition sessions, and researching special projects. The internship is a minimum of 2 days a week for 3 months or 3 days a week for 2 months. It is non-paid and can be done for school credit. We are looking for eager, responsible problem solvers with great attitudes who are ready to jump in and take initiative. Email a letter of interest and resume for consideration to Matt Amador.
Learning objectives are for the intern to better understand:
What creates a better audition
The decision making behind casting choices for commercials, films and reality TV
The research involved finding talent, be they actors or non-actors, for a given project
A comprehensive understanding of the talent pool of Chicago and the talent agents that represent them
Creative decisions from a wide array of directors and producers for local, national and international projects
Interns from O'Connor Casting have gone on to work as successful actors, talent agents, producers and directors. Members of our team have been honored with many awards, including Emmys, and are dedicated to working with our interns to ensure that the internship does not stop after their last day. We align interns with staff members who can assist them with their specific career goals through specific projects, references and mentorship.
