NorthSouth Productions, the producers of Impractical Jokers and Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta, is one of the largest independent producers of television programming in the country. Providing programming to a variety of networks including truTV, Discovery Channel, Speed, History, A&E, TLC and Travel Channel, our production credits include competition-elimination, documentaries, adventure travel, home improvement and docu-comedy formats.
For the Spring 2017 semester, NorthSouth's New York office is seeking a lively, inquisitive, and hungry Junior or Senior intern to exclusively assist our development team with project specific research and outreach. This is a great opportunity to learn from seasoned industry professionals and gain exposure to the development phase of television production. Responsibilities:
This individual will assist the two comedy development executives with day to day administrative tasks, development research, writing and have the opportunity to sit in on some meetings and pitches.
Compiling monthly trend reports
Assisting with treatments, pitch decks, and one-sheets
Writing coverage on any comedy shows attended
Pitching comedy talent ideas to execs
Conducting development research
This individual should be very passionate about comedy and interested in learning about the development process.
Job Requirements:
Candidates must be available to work in NorthSouth's New York office for a minimum of three weekdays.
This internship is for college credit only to Juniors and Seniors.
Genuine interest in comedy and television development
Strong research / writing skills
Organized and efficient
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign skills a plus
Previous development experience a plus
