Seeking a super creative, veteran freelance writer/producer with 3-5 years experience writing and producing short-form television (ie, tv promos, online shorts, movie trailers, on-air vignettes, brand sizzles, etc).
Responsibilities
- Support Senior Producer and internal Nick Creative Team in conceptualizing, executing and delivering 2-3 minute Nickelodeon Property Tapes. (i.e. network and/or show-specific sales, marketing and sizzle tapes, behind-the-scenes vignettes, first-look trailers and various other creative materials.)
- Review creative briefs and meet with internal Nickelodeon clients to discuss new assignments and obtain creative direction.
- Brainstorm and creatively collaborate with internal Nick Creative Team to write, pitch and present innovative concepts that not only meet the needs and goals of the client, but exceeds the overall expectations of the Department and the Network.
- Create and manage production schedules to ensure projects deliver on time, and under budget.
- Oversee and provide creative direction for edit, mix, graphics and voiceover sessions.
- Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with internal Creative Team, as well as teammates from other departments, including, but not limiting to, production management, editorial and design on all project phases.
- Attend all appropriate and relevant meetings to best understand Network business goals and programming strategy, and communicate that understanding to internal creative team and edit houses so they are represented in all projects.
- Write and produce custom creative materials as assigned by Creative Director.
- Stay current in design trends and have strong awareness of pop culture, comedy, entertainment and technology related to video / film production.
- Work with corporate promotion and project management teams to locate, collaborate with, and allocate for external production houses (i.e. graphic design houses, edit facilities, mix studios, voice-over talent, etc.) for projects based on creative brief and budget.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of television writing/producing or associate producing experience.
- Excellent creative abilities, on-air production sense and aesthetic judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience writing creative scripts for television and/or television marketing.
- Excellent organizational skills, creative thinker and problem solver.
- A passion for and understanding of the Nickelodeon brand, kid's entertainment and television in general.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Strong sense of humor.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Knowledge of and ability to work with Final Cut is a plus.
