Overview and Responsibilities
Manage all licensing activities for assigned product categories. Reporting into Vice President, this role directly supports team of three as well as handles projects/assignment for the overall Preschool group. Responsibilities include the development of annual business plans and quarterly revenue estimates and budgets, negotiating and executing deals with new licensees, managing and maximizing existing accounts, assisting with product development, working with Consumer Products Marketing, Sales and Creative teams to develop promotional and creative strategies.
Responsibilites
• Meet or exceed total Toy annual budget plans and ensure consistent and timely financial reporting including all royalty and ad commitments in addition to preparing, analyzing, and updating competitive analyses. Serve as key liaison for several master toy partners including Fisher Price, Mattel/Mega, Spin Master and Just Play to name a few
• Provide support, information and relevant materials to all licensees in order to maximize licensees’ development of new products to support departmental objectives.
• Oversee the internal review and execution of all product development in a smooth, efficient manner.
• Manage day-to-day operations for several product categories including product, packaging and advertising approval.
• Spearhead all cross promotions as assigned.
• Negotiates and executes deals for product category with existing and new licensees.
• Work closely with the following departments: CP LOBs, Ad Sales, Promotions Marketing, Creative, International, Production, Standards, Legal, and Digital to ensure best possible support of franchises and to ensure that all licensees make best efforts to tie into the Nick tent pole themes/promotional events.
• Manage product and marketing development for partners to ensure safety and adherence to standards of all products.
• Assist with development of plans and strategies to grow business and yearly revenue.
• Analyze and negotiate new business deals and seek opportunities for growth in product categories.
• Monitor trends and competition.
Basic Qualifications
• 4-6 years experience in licensing or other related field
• Bachelor’s degree required.
Additional Qualifications
• MBA preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Must be reliable and resourceful
• Should be proactive leader as well as team player
• Able to lead or contributes to complex projects and develops solutions
• Ability to manage diverse projects and assignments
• Works well under pressure and within deadlines
