Overview and Responsibilities
Nickelodeon Animation is looking for a Collections and Outreach Coordinator to join our growing archives and library team. The Collections and Outreach Coordinator evaluates original production artwork for long-term preservation, works closely with productions on research requests, and assist with other special projects as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the properly preserving and storing of original production artwork
• Catalog assets, including, but not limited to, storyboards, artwork, and digital assets
• Fulfill research requests for NAS productions
• Maintain and organize the physical collections of art and any other studio assets
• Works with the Manager on acquiring and deaccessioning of Collections
• Works with the Manager on the studio artwork displays including formatting, printing, mounting, matting and hanging of the artwork
• Digitize original artwork and organize it in the NAS servers for future studio use
• Create guides and manuals of Archive procedures including cataloging, digitization of assets, in-studio delivery methods, and proposals for future projects and exhibits
• Train and guide new hires to the Archive and the studio
• Co-supervise and manage Archive Intern and issue out daily responsibilities with Archives Coordinator
• Promotes the Archive Mission within the studio and to the community at large
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Arts or equivalent is required
• 2 years or more of experience working in an Entertainment Archive
• Basic understanding of art preservation
• Strong computer skills. Primarily with the standard Office suite
• Ability to follow projects to completion
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communications skills to organize the collections
• Willingness to learn new and proprietary software platforms
• Strong customer services skill will be required when dealing with clients
• Strong communication skills
Additional Qualifications
• Knowledge of Nickelodeon Properties
• Bachelor of Arts in Film, Animation, or Television is preferred
• Archival certificate preferred
• Thorough understanding of animation process and pipeline is preferred
• Production experience and understanding of the studio system is preferred
• Team player
