Background:
The Nickelodeon UK Network is available in 14 million cable and satellite homes and now reaches more than 10 million viewers a month. Launched in 1993, the top-performing Nickelodeon network comprises seven dedicated entertainment channels for kids aged 4-15 and their families: Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon HD, Nickelodeon 1, Nicktoons, Nick Jr., Nick Jr. 1 and Nick Jr. 2. The entertainment company has built a diverse multi-platform business by putting kids first in everything it does – Kids Rule!
Content is at the core of the business with critically-acclaimed and hugely-popular television programming from the UK and around the world merging with bespoke content online, as well as consumer product and recreation opportunities such as the UK’s first-ever Nick theme park, Nickelodeon Land.
Nickelodeon network shows include: SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action hits Sam & Cat, The Haunted Hathaways, iCarly, and Victorious.
The Department:
Nick CSU is responsible for on-air sponsorship and commercial brand partnerships across all Nick channels, ensuring all campaigns are creatively aligned across digital, print and off-air marketing. Working closely with many high profile companies such as Petits Filous, Mattel, Unilever, Toys R Us as well as media agencies. The Creative Services Department must ensure that Nickelodeon, Nicktoons and Nick Jr. deliver on their individual brand promises, while driving ratings and brand affinity.
Job Purpose:
To work closely with the CSU Senior Manager and Creative Lead to create and deliver engaging, fun and fresh commercial campaigns for Nickelodeon’s brands and external partners. Ensuring they are each true to their brand architectures and demographics, whilst adhering to budgets and timescales set.
The CSU Associate Producer should be a talented all rounder, willing to turn their hands to anything and able to work in a fast turnaround environment. They should be comfortable facing clients, working with children, have a willingness to learn and sense of humour.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Creative Lead to develop ideas and treatments for commercial campaigns and sponsorship briefs for internal / externals clients that are on brief and on brand across
• Nickelodeon’s portfolio of channels
• Accompany Senior Manager and Creative Lead to client meetings to engage in the pitching process
• Creating commercial partnership, sponsorship and sizzle work for Nickelodeon channels, using
• Adobe Premiere, from initial concept, cutting, directing graphics/audio and voice over sessions to mastering and delivery of final promos
• Work with the On-Air & CSU Co-ordinator to manage, maintain and archive CSU media and projects
• Work with the On-Air & CSU Co-ordinator to manage Clearcast / Copy Central submissions.
• Maintaining and management of CSU Vimeo account.
• Ensuring all information in commercial spots is accurate
• Understanding of Ofcom regulations enforced by Clearcast / Copy Central
• Ensure the delivery of all given projects are on time and in budget
Person Specification:
• Solid knowledge of Adobe Premiere (self-operating) with a good understanding of 3D/2D animation and graphic design
• Directing skills – still and moving image shoots managing both talent and kids
• Good scriptwriting skills and ability to adapt tone of voice to client briefs
• Understanding of Ofcom regulations enforced by Clearcast / Copy Central
• A good understanding of the post-production environment
• Ability to make funny, entertaining content for a discerning and demanding audience
• Currently working in a similar role within a TV environment
• Good team player
• Great command of English language
• Basic knowledge of After Effects
• Strong show reel showcasing experience
