Identifying an exciting idea that can become a great film is one of the most challenging and exciting parts of filmmaking - do you have it in you? We need someone with creative insight and a passion for film, someone who is a regular film-goer and excited about the future for long-form storytelling.
The NZFC works with the country's most talented and passionate filmmakers on every conceivable kind of feature film. We are looking for a new person to join our committed Development and Production team, working hard to support New Zealand filmmakers and deliver the best films to New Zealand and international audiences.
You'll come to the role with experience in assessing films either in New Zealand or internationally. You might have a background as a key creative in the filmmaking process, as part of a festival programming team or through experience in distribution.
From your previous experience you'll bring an interesting collection of industry contacts that you think can add value to the New Zealand film industry. You'll be creatively driven with strong communication skills and have experience in managing a demanding workload through initiative and an ability to prioritise.
Although based in Wellington, the role requires regular domestic and occasional international travel.
This role could ideally suit someone wanting to spend time working with the NZFC before returning to the film industry.
