Full Time Paid Internship
The intern will assist with public relations, marketing, and branding activities to support NFMLA's mission to curate strong monthly film festival programs designed to effectively serve our diverse community while maintaining an environment of artistic and cultural exchange. Duties will include cultivating public relations opportunities to increase NFMLA's visibility, identify potential press opportunities, contribute to social media campaigns, writing and distributing press releases, creating and tracking metrics to monitor effectiveness of publicity efforts. The intern will also get the opportunity to attend these festival events to see their work come together as well as network with the filmmakers and entertainment industry professionals.
Applicants should have:
- Proficient knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc) and their influence on the appearance of an organization
- Working knowledge of the role of a press release and some experience in crafting copy
- Recommended, but not required, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Eligibility:
This internship is sponsored by and a part of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission's Arts Internship Program, which is a 10-week, full-time, paid internship opportunity for eligible undergraduates. All applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate (2- or 4-year) college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 1, 2017, or will complete their undergraduate degree between May 1 - September 1, 2017 in order to participate. Students must be able to legally work in the United States.
Students who have already earned a BA, BS or a higher degree are not eligible. Students who have previously participated in the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program are not eligible to participate a second time. Students invited to participate in the program will be asked to provide verification of eligibility via college transcripts, driver's license, and other documents to show enrollment status and/or LA County residence. There are no exceptions to our eligibility requirements.

NFMLA is a nine-year-old nonprofit dedicated to showcasing innovative works by emerging filmmakers from LA and around the world. NFMLA provides a monthly festival where filmmakers can be recognized, have open audience discussions about their projects, and connect with industry professionals for insight on production, acquisition and representation. NFMLA fosters a diverse community of both filmmakers and film lovers, which inspires a melting pot of cultural and artistic exchange.
