Intern - LA based monthly Film Festival - NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA)
Please only apply for this internship if you can commit at least 24 hours per week (3, eight hour days minimum). This internship will begin in early-May 2017 and end in late-August 2017. We prefer interns who will receive school credit.
We are looking for individuals who are very interested in the NewFilmmakers Los Angeles mission. Those who love film, filmmaking and have a skill they would like to utilize toward developing and contributing to the organization. For NewFilmmakers Los Angeles to function as a non-profit it requires a team of talented people partnering together to create strong programs in order to effectively serve the community and professional entertainment industry while maintaining an environment where everyone can grow and learn from the events taking place each month.
Those who commit efforts with NFMLA will benefit professionally through our ever expanding network of supporters and partners. We have seen great success stories, as NFMLA was created to foster emerging artists.
The positions available are listed below, though, if given an internship, your responsibilities may encompass multiple tasks from all the job areas.
Publicity/Marketing Coordinator
• Update and maintain press database as needed.
• Research and pitch press outlets/contacts
• Assist with Press and Publicist accreditation.
• Coordinate press check-in at gala red carpets.
• Track press coverage.
• Complete job specific reports and organize files prior to exit interview.
Grant Writer
The ideal candidate for Grant Writer has strong written and verbal communication skills, pays attention to details, is highly organized, able to meet deadlines and possesses an ability to work as part of a team, but also function with minimal direction and posses the ability to think creatively on developing grants on their own.
• Research/Write/edit/coordinate proposals, reports and budgets for foundations, corporations, government agencies and media grants.
• Maintain Development Grant Calendar of grant deadlines.
• Assist with duties as assigned by the Executive Director related to the grant writing process.
• Provide regular reports and updates to the Executive Director.
Sponsorship Coordinator
• Work with the NFMLA Sponsorship and Development department to oversee the activation and fulfillment of production aspects for NFMLA sponsorship deliverables; this includes attending meetings and participating in calls pertaining to sponsorship deliveries and activation prior to the festival.
• Oversee proper placement and recognition of sponsors pertaining to signage, collateral materials and physical presence prior to and during the festival.
• Work with NFMLA Sponsorship and Development and Festival Operations to ensure that all sponsor deliverables are fulfilled. This includes, but is not limited to product deliveries, on-site visibility, accreditation, ticketing and any production needs as they relate to individual sponsors.
• Work with all sponsors on lounge and space deliverables to coordinate visibility at the event space; coordinate production needs with the NFMLA Team and the lounge/space management staff.
• Work with photographers at the NFMLA events to ensure that all sponsors have photographs of their sponsorship activations, events and product displays.
• Post event, create customized photo disks for each sponsor and make sure to share any media promoting or giving their product.
Post Production Supervisor / Editor
• Oversees post and edits monthly interview series called STAGE 5 for MovieMaker Magazine
