Description: Handle video, advanced scouting and travel needs for assigned affiliate during the season. Assist Amateur and International Scouting departments throughout the year with video needs and other various projects throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in all video filming at assigned affiliates and expediently prepare such video to be viewed by players and staff
• Consult and coordinate with Player Development instructors and Video Coordinators, – Player Development for the filming of all games and requested practice sessions at assigned affiliate
• Record each home game from various angles as directed by Player Development staff, capture video clips and input game data using BATS video coaching system
• Travel with assigned affiliate for all road contests, film games according to road team's ballpark specifications and input game data using BATS video coaching system
• Transfer all game video and data from affiliate contests to Video Coordinator – Player Development at Minor League complex in a timely fashion
• Serve as the point person for advance scouting, technological troubleshooting and game preparation at assigned affiliate
• Film, capture and edit Major League rehabilitation workouts/games executed at assigned affiliate
• Oversee and distribute player and staff meal money, organize rooming list for hotels for upcoming road trips and coordinate travel itinerary
• Be available to the Video Coordinator during spring training for any filming, editing, or other video related needs as assigned by the Major League Video Coordinator or Video Coordinator– Player Development
• Assist Amateur Scouting Department and Video Coordinator with video needs in preparation for first year player draft
• Chart international games from Japan, Mexico and Cuba; chart domestic amateur (college) games and assist with any additional tasks handed down by New York staff during offseason months
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience working with BATS coaching system or another video coaching system required
• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
• Must be able to recognize pitch types and know how to score a baseball game
• Detail oriented and organized
• Strong verbal communication and collaborative skills
• Experience working with video and in baseball is required
