The New York Television Festival Internship Program
Now Accepting Applications for Summer 2017
Each year, the NYTVF seeks highly motivated and enthusiastic interns to assist with preparation for the annual New York Television Festival, held each fall in NYC.
With this internship opportunity, the NYTVF offers a unique crash course in all things TV, with regular talks on what goes into making a successful series, on-site curation and critique of materials, lunches designed to enhance interns industry understanding, and more.
Interns will work closely with NYTVF staff in the acquisition and curation of all Festival-related content, including the Independent Pilot Competition and NYTVF Scripts. Interns will have exclusive access to Festival materials, help in the planning and development of events, and be responsible for various projects throughout the summer. Candidates with varied entertainment interests are welcome, though those with interest in social media, outreach, television critique, script coverage, and writing are of particular interest.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates should be college students, recent graduates, or students enrolled in a graduate program with a strong interest in the world of television, an understanding and appreciation of unscripted television formats, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and access to a laptop. Previous office experience is preferred, and previous festival experience is a plus. As part of the internship, candidates are required to attend and work at the Festival as the conclusion of their internship.
Candidates should be available for either part-time or full-time positions, with a minimum of 20 hours/week. As this internship is unpaid, students can register the internship for academic credit with their college or university, though this is not required. Additionally, a daily food/transportation stipend will be provided.
