Full Time Unpaid Internship
Summary:
The Event Logistics Intern will provide event support to Event Logistics Assistant, Metropolitan Hospitality and Event Logistics Director, Metropolitan Hospitality, by sharing in the responsibilities noted below.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Arrange tours of event spaces for vendors and clients.
• Oversee layout creation and set-up and break-down for each event.
• Ensure that all spaces are restored to original layout following events.
• Check all event spaces post event for damage and report any incidences that may have occurred.
• Oversee relationship with furniture rental companies; place orders for furniture needs; and oversee rental deliveries and pick-ups.
• Gather all invoices post event and submit to accounting for payment.
• Work with part-time event logistics staff and event vendors during set-up and break-down of all Metropolitan Hospitality events.
• Maintain furniture inventory of all event spaces.
• Maintain Metropolitan Hospitality storage, inventory, and event supplies.
• Create event notes, checklists, signage, materials needed for events.
• Handle insurance documents, waivers, and vendor agreements for Metropolitan Hospitality events.
• Coordinate load-in/load-out, timeline, access, setup and breakdown for Metropolitan Hospitality events.
• Assist with typing, organizing, and sending event documents (Event Notes, Post Event Notes, Contracts, Daily Updates, Floor Plans, Maps, etc.)
• Able to perform manual labor, which may include carrying boxes, pushing, loading, and unloading hand trucks, setting-up directional signage, moving furniture, etc.
• Assist with all functions of Metropolitan Hospitality.
Qualifications:
• 1 year of hospitality/inventory experience preferred.
• Must be able to work set-up and break-down of all Metropolitan Hospitality events through the internship period as required.
• Must be capable of working nights and weekends in addition to office hours.
• Professional demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Must be a creative, detail-oriented, passionate “People Person” capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to manage a team and be authoritative.
• Must be team-oriented, outgoing, extremely motivated, and able to work independently.
• Experience working in a project-based environment with emphasis on meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, ability to multi-task.
Education and/or Experience:
• High School degree required.
Computer Skills:
• Must possess a strong working knowledge of MS Office software, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Photoshop is preferred.
