Location: Citi Field; Flushing, NY
The Mets are looking to bring data to the forefront of how our business is run. The Database Administrator/Developer will work with the Analytics team to support our existing database and data warehouse infrastructure, and oversee the growth the system to meet our expanding data needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) processes.
• Manage the Business Intelligence data warehouse to support reporting and analytics
• Develops detailed data models for ticket sales, MLB reporting, customer relations, and sponsorship efforts
• Develop processes ensuring data standards, security, stewardship, lineage, and metadata management.
• Spearhead efforts to identify, obtain, and integrate new data sources useful for decision-making.
• Drive business report creation across multiple departments from our Enterprise Data Warehouse including metadata mapping, Business Intelligence technology use, and overall automation of standardized reporting across the organization.
• Oversee all aspects of database operations, including defining and resolving database problems, tuning the server for performance, and managing storage.
• Responsible for appropriate documentation development, including requirements, design, code documentation, test plans, and other related documents.
• The successful candidate is comfortable learning new technologies, conducting unsupervised research and sharing findings with the department.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Business intelligence, data warehousing, and/or data integration experience.
• Proven data modeling experience.
• Thorough knowledge of data warehouse design and integration principles
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server maintenance and operations.
• Experience using XML and/or JSON formatted data.
Required Skills:
• Knowledgeable about software development best practices and long-term maintainability of code
• Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure, integrity, and incompatibilities
• Experience supporting or using statistical and/or data mining applications.
• Experience in a .NET programming language desirable.
• Familiarity with any of application development and/or web technologies is desirable.
