The Human Resources Manager will report into the General Counsel. The HR Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function specializing in recruitment, compliance, employee relations and culture. We are looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of HR experience within a production or studio who can appreciate a fast paced start-up environment.
What you'll do:
- Spearhead formalized recruitment process across the company, with data, tracking, goals and clear communication to executive team.
- Manage all employee relations matters, including without limitation, field and answer questions related to employment; including benefits, payroll, onboarding, policies, compliance, workers comp.
- Manage the bi-annual review and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance. Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the General Counsel, on personnel
matters.
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities or
personnel matters.
- Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
- Maintains company's human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel
information needs.
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
- Conduct investigations related to workplace fraud, harassment, discrimination and safety.
- Embody our culture through behavior and interactions and formalize New Form's wellness, culture,
and philanthropy initiatives.
- Invite and promote constructive and ongoing feedback.
What you'll need to have:
- - HR expertise, business acumen, critical evaluation, ethical practice, refined communication skills, leadership and navigation and relationship management.
- - You need to have a calm and professional demeanor that invites trust among employees. Knowledge of safety requirements and training; including DOT, OSHA, etc.
- - Passion for the business; driven to accomplish and meet objectives.
- - Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced
environment.
- - Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented.
- - Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
