This is an ideal position for an individual who has gained strong experience in a previous production accounting role and seeks to apply those skill to a fast-growing company. The ideal candidate must be comfortable in a dynamic start-up environment, will bring energy and passion to everything he/she does, and will not be afraid to roll up his/her sleeves to tackle challenging assignments.
What you'll do:
- Assist with Banking activities like setting up new accounts, adding new signatures, bank reconciling items, banking fees, positive pay exceptions, etc.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements.
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards.
- Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures
- Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
- Prepares and records asset, liability and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including ''Budget vs. Actual'' variance reports and Trial Balance. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
- Assist with completion of the quarterly if any and annual regulatory filings; preparation of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages/schedules.
- Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
What you'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 8+ years of experience working in accounting or a related financial area
- Must be proficient in Windows, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with Unions
- Experience with Production Tax Credit
- Experience with various production accounting software including V5, Movie Magic, EP Payroll, P-Cards
