The Role
The Coordinator for Originals Publicity will play a key role in working alongside the team's existing coordinator to support the growing originals PR team.
Tasks are varied, extensive and timely. They will include but are not limited to: assisting in scheduling and coordinating high volume of conference calls with worldwide media (arranging dial-in numbers with participants, confirming details, obtaining transcripts and confirming call participants); helping to staff publicity events and coordinate assets for said events (AV, etc.); maintain the originals publicity press site, managing additions/approvals to said site and managing the addition of all assets to press site (including screeners); helping to service press clips daily to media outlets via Box; updating various lists, documents and charts on the department's Google drive; liaising with team that translates press releases for worldwide use and local agencies to distribute said releases; assisting to prepare internal and external presentations; managing the creation of promotional items and giveaways; assisting in booking a high volume of talent travel, assisting to create all itineraries for said travel and carefully tracking costs; and interfacing with talent reps and artist agencies to set up the high volume amount of hair/makeup and tracking deal memos for their work.
The successful candidate is:
- Bilingual -- we need more Spanish speakers!
- Scrappy, resourceful and relentless in trying to find a solution before escalating issues.
- Able to anticipate potential problems and knows when to ask for help.
- Aware that the world of publicity is not a 9-5 job.
- Thorough, completes tasks and follows up.
- Organized, organized, organized -- i.e. there's a label on your label maker.
- Meticulous about the details. Every single one of them.
- Poised, not scared to speak up with their team, and mature.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under deadlines and pressure.
- Able to pivot and adapt to shifting priorities without missing a beat.
- A proactive and positive thinker.
- Knows Google Drive like the back of their hand.
- Able to function effectively as a part of a loosely coupled but highly aligned team.
- Effective in dealing with global PR agencies, talent reps and internal executives.
- A great communicator- via email, by phone, in person-and simultaneously.
- A rabid fan of television, film and pop culture. They know which episode Gus was blown up in and how many times viewers have seen the yellow umbrella. They don't need to necessarily track pilots but they're reading all the buzz about what is highly anticipated.
- Able to see this opportunity as a stepping-stone for a career in publicity.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for Coordinator, Originals Publicity will have two to three years in a corporate, agency or journalism setting. They will be a clear and concise communicator in a variety of media. BA/BS required.
