The Role
The Manager for Awards Events will play a key role in strategizing, executing and managing events for the originals publicity team, which crosses documentaries, series and film. They are a member of a small, seasoned group of professionals.
The Manager will work alongside the team that is helping to create, shape, execute and manage awards campaigns for series, meaning that they will have to be in sync and show a curiosity about promotional efforts and contribute to improve campaigns with new and innovative event ideas. The ideal candidate has worked handling events for film or television awards campaigns. They will be able to communicate with filmmakers, talent representatives, agencies, executives and production partners on efforts. They can formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into their process successfully. Pack your bag because domestic and international travel is a requirement.
The ideal candidate is able to make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity and thinks strategically. They can articulate what they are - and are not - trying to do. He or she is a good listener and a real doer. They are organized, thorough and not afraid to get their hands dirty - and that will mean jumping in to handle tasks that range from planning and time-lining screening events; coordinating with Academy groups and guilds; hiring an agency to plan an event; maintaining and updating guest lists; booking a venue themselves for an event; or working a check-in table. The responsibilities are wide-ranging. They collaborate well with partners that range from the publicists overseeing strategy to content/programming to marketing to social to product and beyond. Strong candidates can handle a vast amount of work and they are eager to learn. They are curious and also contribute effectively outside of their speciality. A good fit in the role has a candid and direct communication style, they are willing to admit to mistakes quickly and questions values inconsistent with our values.
Qualifications
The successful candidate for Manager, Events will have at least 6 years of entertainment experience organizing, planning, executing and staffing events at an agency, studio, network or with a brand. He or she will also have experience working on television or film award campaigns, including tastemaker events, screening series, big membership events or all-guild
opportunities. BA/BS required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Manager, Awards Events reports will report to the Director, Awards.
