Netflix, the leading on-line movie & television subscription service, seeks a seasoned Employment Counsel, International, to join our smart and talented global employment team. This position is based in Netflix's Amsterdam office, and reports to the Director, Global Employment Law.

As a member of Netflix's global employment team, the Employment Counsel, International, will:
• Advise members of Talent, Employee Services, Customer Services, and other business groups on employment-related matters globally, with an emphasis on Dutch matters;
• Provide subject matter expertise and, when appropriate, training on a broad range of employment issues, including recruiting, contingent workers, wage and hour, employment practices, and terminations;
• Proactively identify, assess, and balance employment law risk, and be able to to offer practical, business - oriented and creative solutions;
• Stay abreast of, and advise Netflix on, meaningful employment-related legal developments;
• When necessary, manage employment-related litigation;
• Actively collaborate with the employment team on global projects and issues;
• Select, manage and use outside counsel effectively; and
• Support Netflix's commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive harassment-free workplace.
Requirements The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer in an EU Member State (Netherlands preferred), and have at least 7 years of big firm and/or in-house experience in employment counseling on Dutch and international employment issues. Some employment litigation experience in the Netherlands is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will also possess the following:
• Deep knowledge of employment laws in the Netherlands, with some experience advising on employment issues in various other European jurisdictions;
• Experience advising on issues related to Dutch works councils;
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment;
• Consistently exercises great judgment resulting in immediate action and smart decisions;
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented; and
• Be open-minded and able to pivot if the business needs change.
