The Production Specialist promotes and manages the production of catalog, direct mail campaigns and specialty print projects from concept through production, mailing and follow-up reporting while ensuring the quality standards of National Geographic Partners are met.
• Uses expertise to translate all client requirements into effective communication to all necessary end-users via Virtual Ticket
• Act as liaison with management, internal departments and vendors/suppliers to troubleshoot problems and provide innovative solutions
• Generates team meeting and project schedules in co-operation with internal team and external suppliers
• Performs multistage QC procedures, including review of print and letter shop specifications, all internal proofing stages, printer proofs, press approvals, data processing and lettershop approvals and invoices
• Consults with internal team and external suppliers on costs and technical aspects of printing and mailing operations to ensure cost efficiencies and savings as well as the request, review of all quotes and vendor selection
• Facilitates in-house design and production between NGI and internal clients
• Maintains procedures to ensure smooth work-flow and accuracy involved in producing all direct mail and catalog campaigns
Qualifications:
• Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office and Virtual Ticket
• Knowledge of production software is required along with an understanding of production workflow
• Production and Project Management experience required
• Must have the ability to work independently, work with limited direction and supervision; make solid decisions
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be detail oriented and have the ability to perform in-depth research and reconciliation
• Excellent proof-reading skills required
• Ability to prioritize workload, manage time efficiently and consistently meet required deadlines

A portion of the proceeds from National Geographic Partners LLC will be used to fund science, exploration, conservation and education through significant ongoing contributions to the work of the National Geographic Society.
