Full Time Unpaid Internship
The Human Resources Intern will directly assist NPR’s Talent Acquisition (TA) team with a wide range of projects related to recruiting. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the key operational role that Human Resources plays within our organization. In addition, the HR Intern will have opportunities to network with other interns across the organization and learn the fundamentals of a news organization.
Responsibilities:
• Support Recruiting team with on-site interview scheduling and coordination
• Manage NPR Careers email inbox for the Recruiting team and route the questions to the appropriate point of contact.
• Assist Recruiting team in a variety of employment branding, social media, and recruiting initiatives
• Assist the Recruiting team with the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Transition project
• Work with the Recruiting team in curating and updating the Careers pages on NPR.org
• Provide Analytics and Reporting support on Diversity Recruiting (Source of Hire/EEO)
• Provide excellent customer service to those contacting the HR department via phone and e-mail by responding to inquiries/requests in a timely manner
Qualifications:
• Recent graduate or current student studying Human Resources or a related field
• Fundamental knowledge of HR practices and employment law
• Interest in Talent Acquisition and Social Recruiting
• Creativity and a passion for learning
• Experience using PC and Microsoft Office software
• Tech-savvy and/or curious about technology and social media
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment within deadline
• Ability to handle more than one assignment at a time; ability to prioritize, anticipate and communicate effectively
