Full Time Job
The Labor Relations Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining the administration of the Labor Relations department for Universal Studios Hollywood. This position also provides timely and accurate reporting and serves as a liaison between the employees, Unions, Field HR Team and Park Management to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Contract Compliance, Training & Negotiations
oConduct initial investigation of grievances
oProvide assistance and support to LR staff for contract negotiations
oAssist in the preparation of Labor Relations management training materials
oCoordinate with LR staff and HR and business partners to ensure timely compliance with contractual administrative requirements and deadlines
oResearch and/or answer inquires by employees, unions and management as appropriate
Fulfilling Reporting & Notification Requirements
oAll departmental reporting
oCollective Bargaining Agreements
oInternal and external notifications
oGathering and compiling information for Legal reporting
oReviewing reports for accuracy
oPerform special projects and other assignments as directed.
Office Administration
oCreation and maintenance of files, including digital filing system
oOrdering and maintaining supplies and equipment
oScheduling, preparing, and setting up for meetings
oProcessing invoices
oUpdating LR internal web-based portal
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
o2 year College Degree (A.A. in Labor Relations, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or High School Diploma/GED and comparable work experience.
oMust be able to work 9 AM to 6PM Monday through Friday and be available for occasional overtime and/or work on weekends.
oMinimum of 1 year work experience in an administrative capacity, including experience handling confidential/proprietary information.
oProficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
oBachelor's Degree from a 4 year college or university in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
oStrong interpersonal and communication skills, including a professional phone manner and in-person presence.
oDetail oriented, friendly, comfortable with technology, willing to take initiative, and able to prioritize his/her work in a quickly changing environment.
oGreat customer service skills--including the ability to interact with different personalities--,
o Intermediate level math skills,
o Familiarity with human resources software, such as SAP
o General working knowledge of labor unions.
oEnjoys being part of a diverse team but is also able to work in an organized manner and without close supervision.
