Full Time Job
This Human Resources Manager role will provide day-to-day HR generalist support for NBC4 and NBC News in Washington.
• Participate in key HR initiatives including staffing, performance management, compensation, development and engagement
• Provide interpretation on company policies & procedures and collective bargaining agreements
• Provide guidance and counsel to employees and managers regarding employee relations to bring about positive resolution
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback at all levels of the organization
• Advocate on behalf of employees
• Assist in staffing process, working with hiring managers and staffing center to identify recruitment strategies ensuring diverse candidate slates and top quality candidate selection
• Implement training strategy and facilitate sessions as required
• Work with HR Connections to research and resolve payroll and benefits issues
• Act as primary point of contact on disability leaves of absence and workers' compensation claims
• Ensure compliance with FCC & EEOC employment practices and applicable employment laws and regulations
• Effectively utilize HR systems such as SAP, Eureka, and Business Warehouse for accurate input of employee data and reporting.
• Lead several employee health & safety programs and active participation on the Safety Committee
• Interact with union representatives
• Represent NBC in the community at job fairs, journalism association events, etc.
• Assist in oversight of intern program and pipeline programs
• Function as integral part of the management team of both client organizations
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field of study
• Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible HR generalist/manager experience
• Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must be 18 years or greater
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be available to evenings and weekends as necessary

• Previous experience in television or entertainment industry a plus
• Experience using HR information systems, such as SAP and Brassring and thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Graduate degree in human resources management or business administration preferred
