Full Time Unpaid Internship
Summary of responsibilities: The HR intern is responsible for performing a broad range of HR and Admin support for a client base of NBC employees; in this case, the population is the Telemundo Studios. This position is also responsible for interfacing & problem solving with a number of business partners including: Staffing, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, & Corporate.
The intern can work up to 40 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in onboarding new employees into SAP system
• Process SAP data changes, promotions, timekeeper actions, termination paperwork and others
• Track employee data changes (new hires/promotions/transfers/terminations) on the headcount tracker.
• Serve as primary user for all HR systems: SAP, Timekeeper, Brassring etc
• Act as the primary liaison with several HR departments including Payroll and Benefits, in order to manage and resolve day to day employee issues
• Assist in program rollouts (i.e.: performance review process, salary planning, benefits open enrollment, etc.)
• Deliver training to employees with direction and support of team as needed
• Respond to routine HR questions including, but not limited to benefits, payroll, vacation or redirect employees to appropriate contacts
• Keep apprised & updated on new regulations, company policies & procedures
• Attend & participate in training courses pertinent to Human Resources as required
• Partner with HRM in drafting and sending out employee communications.
• Plan logistics for employee meetings, trainings, roundtables, including room reservations and technology set-up
• Maintain and update organization charts
Other responsibilities may be assigned & not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Basic Requirements:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, is a plus
• Must be willing to work in Hialeah/Doral/Coral Gables, Florida
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be fluent in Spanish and English (speak, read & write)
• Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV to be considered
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be able to work the duration of Program (10 weeks) - June 9th-August 15th
• Project-based internship program
• Minimum 3.0 average
• Sophomore standing or higher (30 credits)
• Must be authorized to work in the US in a paid position
• Attending an Accredited Institution and working towards earning an Associates, Bachelors, or Graduate degree
• Must be 18 years of age or older
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
Education and/or Experience: Majors can include (but are not limited to) Business & Liberal Arts disciplines. Must be willing and able to commute to Doral, FL, without relocation assistance. Student must be actively enrolled in a college or university. Students that have already graduated are not eligible for this position.
