Responsibilities The Counsel, Legal Affairs will be responsible for handling television production-related legal issues for unscripted (''reality'') television programming for NBCUniversal's Entertainment and Digital Networks and Integrated Media business (which includes Bravo, Oxygen and Style). NBCUniversal production attorneys advise clients on intellectual property, defamation, privacy, contract, newsgathering, and regulatory issues, as well as other issues arising out of unscripted programming; draft production-related agreements (including indemnity agreements, participant agreements, and appearance releases); and vet rough cuts. This role will also handle claims prior to litigation.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues
Partner with NBCU business executives to discuss and implement best practices in reality programming
Draft, review, and interpret contracts
Create and update all necessary forms
Partner with the Legal Affairs team on major projects with long-term business implications
Address and respond to any other matters at the direction of the SVP and/or VPs, Legal
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Member of California bar, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel
Minimum three years of entertainment, intellectual property, privacy, defamation, and/or other relevant subject matter expertise
Must submit transcript and writing sample
Eligibility Requirements:

Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio, MS Project and other related tools.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Proven problem solving skills
Ability to have a positive influence on all levels of management
Ability to develop strong client relationships with multiple business units and their representatives
Demonstrated leadership, management & analytical skills required, project-based management experience highly desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills
