Freelance Weekend and fill-in weekday coverage for MSNBC dayside programming.

Responsibilities: The Director is responsible for all aspects of live control room production. This person will assist the editorial staff in building the program rundown throughout the day, coordinating with graphic designers on elements ordered for that day's program, and integrating those elements into the show. Control room responsibilities include timing all aspects of the program, previewing and insertion of Deko, graphic and tape elements, communication with remote crews and talent and coordination of changes made to the rundown and commercial break structure.

Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience directing live News in a top 20 market. Ability to work flexible hours and to work under tight deadlines. Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and overnights. Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice if needed. Strong directing skills, in both news and talk formats.
