Role Purpose
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to lead the HR team and drive the HR agenda for NBCUniversal's Global Media Operations organization. Global Media Operations is a 1500 employee organization that produces, manages, prepares and distributes NBCUniversal content across all brands and platforms. Global Media Operations partners with Film, Home Entertainment, TV Distribution, the Cable Networks, the Broadcast Networks, and Digital to provide innovative and effective solutions for content production, management and delivery in a rapidly changing technology landscape. Specific operations include companywide Master Control, Vault Management, Order Management, Media Operations, and Engineering. The organization also includes NBC Studios Operations in New York City, the company's graphic design center of excellence known as Artworks and NBCUniversal's New York Metro Facilities organization. This position will report to the SVP, Human Resources and will operationally support the EVP, Global Media Operations. This position is based out of NBCUniversal's 30 Rockefeller Plaza Headquarters but will require travel to New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, and London.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Partnering closely with the EVP, Global Media Operations on creating and executing on a Human Resources agenda and strategy for the organization
• Leading and developing a Human Resources team; providing direction, coaching, feedback and ongoing communication to the team
• Driving key HR initiatives across departments, including staffing, performance and talent management, compensation planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, organizational effectiveness and employee communication.
• Identifying and recruiting key operations and engineering talent for critical open roles and building a world-class bench of internal and external talent.
• Collaborating on a strategic and tactical level with operating leaders on a variety of Human Resource and business-related initiatives to support organization and operational goals.
• Taking the lead on resolving all employee relations and labor relations issues and provide coaching to department leaders on associated HR and labor issues
• Taking a leadership role in working with the labor unions representing certain employees including NABET, IATSE, USA, DGA and Local 174.
• Understanding and interpreting labor contracts, managing employee populations who are represented by a third party and held accountable to a defined labor agreement.
• Providing interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to department employees and managers
• Leading HR initiatives, at times, that cut across the entire Operations & Technical Services organization
• Working with department leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment which encourages the full use of the organizations diverse talents and abilities
• Acting as an employee advocate while driving various corporate and division business initiatives
• Creating and executing on Employee Survey action plans and driving engagement and communications activities throughout the division
• Providing broad HR support to other organizations as needed
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Related Field of Study
• Minimum 10 years relevant HR experience including employee relations, organizational development, and/or labor relations

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
• Graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field preferred
• Strong business acumen, facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage a geographically distributed workforce and partner with local HR representatives
• Strong business partnership: able to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
• Experience leading Human Resources in a complex, represented environment
• Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups.
• Strong employee-relations skillset; can earn trust and credibility with employees in assigned groups
• Previous experience with a technical and represented workforce; HR experience working with mixed represented and non-represented workforces
• Proven influencer; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both employees and executive-level management
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior business leaders, managers, and peers
• Solid knowledge of Labor Relations and NBCUniversal's collective bargaining agreements a plus
• Takes ownership; able to establish self as the 'go-to' HR resource for client organizations
• Prior media/television industry experience preferred
• Experience with international client groups is a plus
• Proven track record of excellent follow-through and execution
• Able to deal effectively with conflict and manage difficult employee relations situations
• Effective communicator: keeps all stakeholders apprised of relevant information, status of deliverables
• Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
