Role Summary
The Vice President, Human Resources has overall responsibility for the design, development and delivery of effective HR strategies and plans in the areas of workforce and resource planning, talent acquisition and retention, succession planning, and compensation programs. This position reports to the President, Golf Channel, and work closely with SVP, HR, NBC Sports Group and oversees HR for the Golf Channel and its GolfNow businesses.
Responsibilities
• Become a part of Golf Channel's senior leadership team, working with the business leader and key stakeholders to establish HR strategic vision needed to support and drive the business
• Lead and leverage HR processes and drive key HR initiatives including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, recruitment and retention, organizational effectiveness and employee communication
• Partner and collaborate with various business leaders on growth strategies and cost challenges; provide HR guidance and input on decisions and execute in order to enable these strategies
• Work with managers to build a career path for employees, identifying opportunities for training, new skill acquisition, and advancement
• Work closely with Labor Relations and Employment Law departments on addressing employee concerns, resolving grievances or disputes, proactively solving workplace issues, and furthering NBCU's relationships with its employees in both the union and non-union portions of its businesses
• Manage employee contract negotiations, extensions, performance issues and terminations in collaboration with the Legal Department and corporate Human Resources
• Help to drive change within the organization, to include adoption of new technologies, integration of key new growth businesses and workflows, staffing models, and organization structures
• Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process and strategic improvements
• Provide interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to employees and managers
• Work with business leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various corporate and division business initiatives
• Lead, manage, and develop the Golf Channel HR Team; providing direction and identifying development, improvement and engagement opportunities that support and encourage high performance
• Develop and drive diversity initiatives in partnership with the NBC Sports Group and Corporate Diversity teams
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS in Human Resources or related field
• Minimum of 10 years professional HR experience, and with demonstrated experience in managing staff and client groups
