Responsibilities Role Summary
The Vice President, Human Resources has overall responsibility for the design, development and delivery of effective HR strategies and plans in the areas of workforce and resource planning, talent acquisition and retention, succession planning, and compensation programs. This position reports to the SVP, HR, NBC Sports Group, and oversees HR for Regional Sports Networks, which includes various partnerships and ventures within those businesses, and working with leadership of the NBC Sports Regional Networks to that end.
Responsibilities
• Lead and leverage HR processes and drive key HR initiatives across Regional Sports Networks including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, recruitment and retention, organizational effectiveness and employee communication
• Partner and collaborate with various business leaders and general managers on growth strategies and cost challenges; provide HR guidance and input on decisions and execute in order to enable these strategies
• Work with managers to build a career path for employees, identifying opportunities for training, new skill acquisition, and advancement
• Work closely with Labor Relations on collective bargaining issues, resolving grievances, and furthering NBCU's relationships with its unions
• Manage employee contract negotiations, extensions, performance issues and terminations in collaboration with the Legal Department and corporate Human Resources
• Help to drive change within the organization, to include adoption of new technologies, workflows, staffing models, and organization structures
• Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process and strategic improvements
• Provide interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to employees and managers
• Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various corporate and division business initiatives
• Lead, manage, and develop HR Managers located in the field; providing direction and identifying development, improvement and engagement opportunities that support and encourage high performance
• Collaborate and assist on various HR projects and initiatives for the HR function inside and outside the division
• Develop diversity initiatives in partnership with the NBC Sports Group Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
• Minimum of 10 years professional HR experience, with an emphasis on employee and/or labor relations

• Graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field and/or PHR/SPHR certified preferred

• Strong business acumen, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
• Must be a team player

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Well-versed in HR Best Practices and overall policy and process
• Ability to coach and counsel both employees and executive-level management
• Strong business partnership and ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
• Open and easily approachable
• Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of HR professionals
