Responsibilities Universal Brand Development globally drives expansion of the company's intellectual properties, franchises, characters and stories through innovative physical and digital products, content, and consumer experiences. Along with franchise brand management, Universal Brand Development's core businesses include Consumer Products, Games and Digital Platforms, and Live Entertainment based on the company's extensive portfolio of intellectual properties created by Universal Pictures, Illumination Entertainment, DreamWorks Animation, and NBCUniversal cable and television. Role Summary The Sr. Manager, HR will act as business partner to managers and employees in Universal Brand Development in the Global HQ based in Los Angeles. S/he will have responsibility for directly supporting Executive level clients, providing strategic input into organization design, managing employee relations issues, ensuring a robust talent pipeline, leading the performance management process, compensation planning, succession planning and all other HR initiatives for this population. This role will also be expected to partner closely with her/his HR counterparts internationally to ensure implementation of corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Partner with VP HR to develop and drive the people strategy by developing and executing on various HR initiatives across Universal Brand Development.
• Be a values and culture champion. Support the development of a culture of innovation and creativity. Coach Managers on leadership development to create an empowered workforce.
• Provide timely and creative HR solutions to business issues.
• Provide coaching to employees & managers, offering feedback and advice on issues in a proactive and compassionate manner.
• Partner with leaders to identify development needs and build into development plans for the business.
• Manage the execution of annual HR processes across the Brand Development organization: Goal Setting, Compensation, and Performance Feedback, Talent Review, Talent Lab nominations and other training opportunities.
• Responsible for attraction, retention, development and organization design across Brand Development as necessary. Key responsibilities include overseeing recruitment and headcount.
• Partner with NBCU HR community to work collaboratively across HR matrix and wider HR agenda in a productive, team-oriented way.
• Manage performance, corrective action and integrity issues in collaboration with Legal and Labor Relations. Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 5 years relevant HR experience, preferably as a manager or generalist
• Flexibility with required schedule and travel demands Additional Job Requirements

• Master's Degree a plus
• Given the growth of the team, experience as a talent acquisition specialist preferred
• Creative problem solver with a passion for Human Resource strategy
• Experience with Packaged Goods, Consumer Products and/or Gaming (development or publishing) a plus
• Strong coaching, consultative, and organizational design skills
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, and presentation skills
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees, managers and executives
• Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills
• Must have ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities
• Solid written and verbal communication skills a must, including the ability to interface with others inside and outside of the company in a positive and professional manner
• Must be able to work independently with the ability to juggle priorities and manage time to effectively meet deadlines
• Experience utilizing HRIS systems; prior experience utilizing SAP preferred
• Ability to work in a diverse, and fast paced environment
• Subject matter expertise on California and Federal employment practices, policies, legal & EEOC guidelines, as well as compensation, wage and hour, and CA benefits administration
• Sense of humor and 'can do' approach
