Specialist, Human Resources (Diversity & Inclusion)
SUMMARY: Supports Diversity & Inclusion, a specific area of Human Resources, by initiating & maintaining communication platforms, compilation and distribution of data metrics and execution of event activities for Diversity & Inclusion Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communication:
Design, create and implement D&I Communication processes & materials to include online digital and printed content, newsletter articles & design layouts, branding campaigns and materials for internal diversity events.
Build and drive Social Media component of D&I Communication.
Create, organize and distribute digital media content to include the following activities: Photograph events, catalog images, event calendar entries and upload to internal departmental SharePoint.
Distribute or post content among internal communication channels.
Participate and occasionally lead ERG group interactions, planning sessions and meetings related to: D&I activities/initiatives offering administrative support (e.g., capturing notes, meeting minutes, action plans, etc.) and participate in the planning and execution of various Team Member Resource Group (TMRG) or D&I events on and off property.
Data Support/Maintenance & Administrative Duties:
Creation and maintenance of D&I Dashboard, to include generation, compilation, analytics and distribution of UO/NBC/Comcast monthly reports/queries & metrics of Diverse Hires, Promotions and Development.
Conduct analysis of data from various HR related systems, observing/flagging trends and disparities based on performance and goals.
Provide administrative support by:
Maintaining databases of information specific to an area of diversity.
Organizing and maintaining Team Member Resource Group (TMRG) database, email distribution lists and inputs PeopleSoft data entry.
Event Preparation & Execution:
Assist in setting appointments and maintaining communication with internal and external client events / activities.
Complete all inter-departmental requests related to executing TMRG events (i.e., banquet event order forms, audio visual requests, IT requests) and input event summary data on UO SharePoint event management site.
Participate in the scheduling, setup, and breakdown of TMRG events, TMRG steering committee meetings or TMRG events when needed.
Participate in work activities in accordance with our UO values of Teamwork, Respect, Open Communication, Recognition, Fun, Honesty, Trust & Integrity and a positive attitude.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SCOPE: Provide all aspects of administrative support to the diversity team.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Microsoft Office required. Proficiency in the following multimedia programs desired: Adobe Suite 1, including Design, Photoshop, Illustrator and Publisher.
Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
EDUCATION:
Associate's degree (AA) is required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Graphic Design, Communications, or Multicultural Studies is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years Human Resources, Diversity or multicultural business experience in a fast-paced environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail orientated and be able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write moderately complex correspondence and articles for publication which conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and the ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and moderately complex written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to conduct research, summarize findings and disseminate information to both internal and external stake holders. Ability to design and implement tracking systems of analytics associated with metrics & data points, determining trends and proposed results.
