Manager, Human Resources Projects (Upr - International)
Responsibilities The Manager, Human Resources - Projects has the overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of a wide variety of special projects and initiatives for International Universal Parks and Resorts (UPR) HR. This person will work closely with the various HR Business Partners, IT Partners, Park Operators, Vendors, and other key stakeholders to define, develop, and successfully execute assignments while also providing general HR services and support for special client groups associated with such initiatives. This role also ensures that the events leading to the launch, implementation, or deployment of each project follows the project life cycle methodology and successfully meets the business goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with all HR Business Partners, IT Partners, Park Operators, Vendors, and other key stakeholders to plan, organize, and manage resources for assigned projects following development lifecycle and project implementation standards as applicable. Independently research, analyze, identify, and document the tasks to achieve project goals. Organize, facilitate, and lead project team meetings to accomplish project deliverables.
• Responsible for the overall management of assigned projects including; work statements, work breakdown structures, developing and tracking budget and schedule, tracking individual project tasks, providing risk analysis, tracking and resolving issues and action items, requirements gathering, quality assurance, providing various project management visibility and control measures and reports as needed and communicating to project team and stakeholders.
• Responsible for providing general HR services, support, mentoring and global mobility guidance, in concert with key HR and Global Mobility Partners, for special client groups associated with project initiatives such as the International Park Leadership Training (PLT) and Short Term Advisor (STA) programs.
• Work closely with Talent Acquisition to market and recruit for programs requiring specific skills, cultural knowledge, and language proficiency in preparation for new park openings.
SCOPE: Follow established Project Management methodologies and provide input to improve practices. Use established project management tools to report project statuses for HR dashboards and reports. Work directly with HR management and participate in regular resource planning meetings. Provide HR support and guidance to special client groups associated with specific project initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements EDUCATION: High school degree or GED is required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Human Resource Management. Knowledge of HRIS, recruiting, learning & development preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Project Management Certification (desired)
EXPERIENCE: 5 - 7 years equivalent work experience in a large-scale fast paced HR environment required. Experience preferred in HRIS, project management, business analysis, and /or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Requires the use of sound business judgment in coordinating the requirements of a user group(s) for a project.
• Conflict resolution and problem solving techniques required.
• Presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills required.
• Must work effectively with internal business clients and external vendors.
• Will require the ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals and procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Will need to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Must feel comfortable effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• May need to compute mathematical rates, ratios, and percentages to produce graphs, and interpret spreadsheets.
• Needs to have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for resolution.
• Must work independently with minimal supervision and possess the ability to build and lead a team in completing a project. Some travel is required to support recruitment and client / business locations.
