Responsibilities The Manager, Global Mobility is responsible for managing the policy & process development, vendor services, compliance, governance, and record keeping for international assignments, payroll and talent movements for Universal Parks & Resorts, which includes policy & process development, assignment forecasting & tracking, service level management and resolution. Also responsible for advising Staffing Departments in regards to obtaining necessary work visas and then maintaining those documents as needed for employment and compliance purposes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages the international payroll process, audits and governance. Reviews payroll instructions, resolves errors, approves trial runs and facilitates payroll and tax funding.
• Develops processes for business traveler tax compliance. Tracks business travelers and facilitates tax compliance with reporting with payroll and tax providers.
• Coordinates host and home country tax reporting and compliance with tax provider. Reviews tax equalizations and coordinates and tracks settlements.
• Manages service providers to identify problems and appropriate solutions in a proactive manner. Tracks SLAs, dashboards and contract compliance. Coordinates RFPs, contract reviews and negotiations with procurement.
• Creates assignment tracking methods and ensures accurate records are kept and easily accessible, including related immigration paperwork, policy exceptions, dependent information, etc. Provides analytical metrics in relation to assignment forecasts and demographics.
• Advises Staffing Departments during the recruitment process in regards to qualification and obtainment of required work authorizations for candidates who need assistance. Keeps accurate records of all work authorizations obtained for Universal Parks and Resorts and partners with immigration attorneys to maintain these authorizations as appropriate. Advises affected Team Members and their Managers on process and potential outcomes in a timely manner as needed.
• Maintains responsibility for the integrity of all Universal Parks & Resorts international assignment and mobility policies and advocates in communication and interpretation of such policies. Develops and maintains related processes, forms, systems, and RACI models. Monitors common trends in marketplace and among assignees and make recommendations to Global Mobility team for change or review of specific policies as appropriate.
• Partners with Finance and tax service provider to produce accurate cost projections for each assignee. Develops annual budget, creates budget versus actual reporting, and prepares quarterly forecasts. Reviews and approves vendor invoices.
• Partners with Global Mobility Representatives on the development and maintenance all service initiatives (websites, collateral, briefings, cultural trainings, group meetings, etc.)
• Provides performance feedback and recognition to staff and guidance related to their career goals and development. Maintains effective communications among team members and fosters an environment where they can grow and where they want to work.
SCOPE:
• This position will be expected to effectively handle a large volume of non-routine, complex tasks in which general policies need to be applied to frequently changing situations. It may have strong influence on decisions of a major nature in regards to the global assignments utilized by the company. It will also require a high degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable outcomes or maintain good will amongst assignees, other Universal Parks & Resorts departments and/or third party service providers. Qualifications/Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong client service and people management and communication skills.
• Ability to organize and analyze data, including presentation materials and communications pieces.
• Solid base knowledge of remuneration, benefits, international payroll, mobility and service models.
• Solid base knowledge of immigration law.
• Solid base knowledge of tax compliance.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
• Solid research and problem solving skills.
• Strong vendor management.
• Results-oriented, pragmatic ability to make the complex understandable.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Tax, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE:
• 7-10 years of relevant global mobility and expatriate management experience required, including supervision of service team.
• Previous finance or tax experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in international human resources and/or international payroll issues strongly preferred.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Global Remuneration or Mobility Certification is preferred.
