Coordinator, Payroll (Part Time)
Responsibilities SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to perform departmental based duties associated with daily processing of payroll and to resolve payroll discrepancies accurately and in a timely manner. This position works with supervisors/managers (outside of Payroll) and individual team members to resolve paycheck discrepancies.
This position is part time in status and will require flexible availability on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Coordinator will also be asked to cover shifts from other Team Members on Vacation/Leave of Absence or be asked to work additional hours to supplement the peak needs of the business. The position will also be provided one additional day of work each week to have the Team Member working 3 days a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide customer service to walk-in customers. Advise and assist team members and management team of appropriate actions necessary to obtain desired action. Performs research and provides specific information to team members/management to resolve payroll issues and discrepancies by utilizing knowledge of the payroll system and guidelines set in the UO policies.
• Inputs, balances, edits & verifies one-time payments, off-cycle checks, W-4's, adjustments, supplemental pay, short-term disability and various other payroll related documents.
• Coordinates, prepares, & sorts paychecks (on & off-cycle) for distribution; maintains spreadsheet to track distribution of paychecks (on & off-cycle). Maintain, organize and ensure adequate forms available at payroll window and in lobby.
• Receive, open, stamp, sort and distribute mail and hand delivered documents to appropriate staff.
• Prepares and maintains a filing system for completed and in-process payroll documents.
• Research returned checks & initiates stop payment requests.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
• Microsoft Windows, Computer Operations, Payroll Systems experience, Electronic Mail, Excel, Data Entry Procedures, Typing, Communicate Clearly with Team, Customer Service Orientation, Flexibility, Organization skills, Research.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
EDUCATION:
• High school degree or GED is required.
EXPERIENCE:
• 1-3 Years: Preferred experience working in a fast-paced Payroll environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:
• Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) sit for prolonged periods; talk; use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; repeat-using an input device-a keyboard or mouse-in a steady manner; close vision with or without corrective lens. (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
• Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) hear audible alarms, voice commands with background noise.
• Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) stand for prolonged periods; walk for prolonged periods (including ability to walk at a given pace that is predetermined by a moving sidewalk); repeat motions more than twice per minute; lift up to 20 pounds with control; push up to 20 pounds with control.
