SUMMARY:
Responsible for the day to day administration of health and welfare plans, tuition reimbursement, all leaves of absences and 401(k) Plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Administers health and welfare plans. Works as a liaison with vendors and Team Members. Help Team Members resolve any insurance claim issues. Assists with the communication and documentation of open enrollment.
•Verifies tuition reimbursement requests while monitoring the tax ceiling.
•Administers all leaves of absences for disability claims. Responsible for approving disability claims and determining benefit amount. Processes disability, earnings and supplemental pay. Handles FMLA requests and monitors FMLA leave hours. Works with Team Members, Managers and HR Field team to coordinate leave of absence.
•Administers the daily tasks for the 401(k) Plan. Processes enrollment, beneficiary and change forms. Processes hardship distributions and prepares for Committee review. Prepares and reconciles weekly wire transfers to vendor. Coordinates special events that include on-site vendor participation.
•Assist Team Members with questions – walk-ins and phone calls, providing information regarding group insurance, disabilities, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, COBRA, sick, PTO, personal holiday, vacation and other leaves. Processes benefit enrollment forms – assists Team Members in completion of forms; inputs into HRIS; and makes and maintains benefit files
•Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
•Proficient with Microsoft Office.
•Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written.
•Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
•Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
•Ability to handle customer complaints and satisfactorily resolve issues.
•Strong organizational skills, ability to multi task and handle large volume of work.
Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
EDUCATION:
•High school degree or GED is required.
•Associate's degree (AA) is preferred in Human Resources or Business.
•Bachelor's degree is preferred in Human Resources or Business.
EXPERIENCE:
•Three to five years of employee benefits experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
