Freelance Job
NBC Sports Group is accepting resumes for a freelance Production Assistant. The Production Assistant position is responsible for assisting the production team with coverage of international sporting events as well as original programming from our Denver, Colorado studios. Production Assistant will work under the direction of various producers and associate producers and will be assigned to a variety of productions including live/taped event integrations, magazine and packaged shows. This position will report to the Senior Producer. Candidate will work in all areas of production and contribute show content ideas, suggestions and support. Must be a self-starter and a team player. Frequent overnight shifts, early mornings, weekends and holidays may be required.
Responsibilities:
Provides support to producers, associate producers and research department on live/taped productions
Graphics coordination and operation of graphics machine for on-air elements
Locates and archives tape and digital materials
Screens, logs and transcribes clips for shows packages and highlights
Assists research department for event productions
Creates research content such as statistics, biographical and historical information for use on-air
Ingests and disseminates video material for multiple platforms
Works with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials
Provides ideas and suggestions to help enhance productions
Adheres to production department procedures
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Olympic, endurance, and action sports and current world-class athletes
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary
Ability to understand storytelling techniques
Self motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be a good communicator with advanced written and verbal skills (emphasis on writing for broadcast)
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines
Ability to positively collaborate with production team
Familiarity with control room production procedures and broadcast equipment
Familiarity with non-linear editing platforms
Familiarity with Chyron graphics machines, Photoshop and After Effects a plus
Willing to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Previous sports network experience preferred
May require ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Valid driver's license
