Associate Producer Role:
Mustache, LLC (Mustache Agency) is seeking a stellar full-time Associate Producer to join our staff team ASAP after proven success in a short-term temporary position. The scope of Mustache's production's ranges from branded content, internal corporate videos, to original web series. The Associate Producer is an integral member of the production team that drives projects from concept to production. The AP communicates with Producers, Directors, clients and/or the Post team to distill the creative vision of the project into a production plan that can be executed within the production budget and timeline. The AP is supported by a production team consisting of Production Coordinators, and Production Assistants.
On set, that AP assists in producing and directing the shoot, crew, client and talent. The AP's key responsibility on set is to ensure the shoot is executed according to the production plan as approved by the client. The ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure in client facing situations is a must. The AP distills any relevant information to the post team and will sometimes watch down cuts.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain budget through pre-pro and production by closely tracking projections and reporting actuals upon production wrap.
• Work closely w/ Producers, Directors, and DPs to execute creative vision.
• Manage staff Production Coordinators and Production Assistants.
• Coordinate production plan w/ Mustache Post team.
• Create write-ups, decks, shoot schedules, and/or production books to help illustrate production plan to client & crew.
• Conduct casting calls, casting research, and secure talent.
• Secure shoot locations, negotiate above the line rates, and conduct creative research.
• Manage all necessary clearances, releases, agreements, and permits.
• On set, manage crew, talent, client, and implementation of shoot schedule ensuring all creative elements are captured.
• Take field notes to provide to post team.
Required Experience & Skills:
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience as AP on either TV, documentary, or digital productions.
• Ability to work in a creative, fast paced, team-oriented environment while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Maintain professionalism working with high profile talent and clientele
• Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously while managing others.
• Casting and researching anything and everything from talent to locations (NYC experience a huge plus).
• Translating creative elements into executable production plans and shoot schedules.
• Managing and tracking budgets.
• Strong knowledge of release protocol and permitting processes is a must.
• Ability to use MS Office Suite (excel is a must) and Google Docs & Drive.
Other Requirements:
• NYC local
• Must have valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel frequently
