Music Dealers, a global music company, is seeking a Creative to join its West coast team of marketing and business development professionals. Founded in 2008, the company has offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and London.
Music Dealers is a full-service music solution, providing advertising agencies, TV networks, music supervisors, and brands around the world with a dedicated creative music partner. By way of its expansive catalog of over 12,000 independent artists and composers, Music Dealers is the preeminent resource and ally for clients looking to harness the power of music and use it to establish themselves as a tastemaker in their marketplace.
Responsibilities:
* Report to and work closely with Business Development department
* Effectively use company infrastructure to further drive creative initiatives
* Extensive knowledge of the MD catalog of artists and composers
* Field creative briefs and prepare appropriate music suggestions for client review
* Help Bus. Dev. identify methods and create assets to secure new business
* Proactively create and pitch Bus. Dev. and mgmt on processes to better harness opportunities and represent MD's creative capacities/catalog in the marketplace
* Collaborate, develop, and assist in the pitching of enterprise level projects and partnerships
* Contribute to effective management and growth of house accounts
* Attend 'off-hour' concerts and industry events to further company image, reach, and perception
* Travel if needed
Requisite Experience and Skills:
* Able to think and work creatively and independently while remaining focused and methodical
* Able to think strategically and tactically
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Excellent time management and multitasking skills
* Well spoken, written, and adept at conveying and receiving creative direction/ideas
* Must have a 'start-up mentality/hunger' with availability that allows for a '24/7' work ethic
* Vast knowledge of music past and present (in-depth knowledge of theory a plus)
* Preferred: Established 'music decision maker networks' in film, TV, or advertising
* Preferred: Able to assist with music editing into spots upon client request
