Job Description: The Royalty Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and timely delivery of royalty statements and payments to Music Reports' clients' licensors, which involves extensive communication with both clients and their music licensors around the world.
Specifically, the Royalty Services Coordinator will be responsible for:
• Reviewing license terms (royalties, advances, term length, exclusions);
• Reviewing and verifying complex royalty statements;
• Reviewing and verifying payments to licensors;
• Working with licensors' tax documentation;
• Ensuring timely delivery of statements and payments to licensors;
• Responding to licensors' inquiries about statements and payments;
• Resolving issues internally with IT, Legal and Research Departments;
• Resolving issues with clients regarding royalty statements and payments;
• Updating and maintaining departmental process documentation; and
• Tracking and communicating client reporting status on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (BA) preferred
Required:
• Ability to learn fast and retain detailed information and instructions;
• Ability to analyze large amounts of data;
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues using sound judgment;
• Ability to work with others as a team to accomplish a common goal;
• Strong, self-starting work ethic;
• Ability to multi-task and work occasional overtime to meet deadlines;
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation;
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both internally and externally.
Desired:
• Strong Excel skills;
• Experience with reading music contracts;
• Royalty experience in the entertainment industry;
• Math aptitude, comfort working with financial data, calculations, spreadsheets;
• Knowledge of publishers, administrators and labels;
• Proficiency in one or more foreign languages.
