Web Editor

The Web Editor develops the content and editorial plan for the News web site, dealing with major amounts of content and updates on a daily basis. Ensures that the information published is accurate and conveys the true voice, tone and editorial strategy of the newscast. Candidate encompasses a broad spectrum of functions from writing original articles, copyediting of existing broadcasted stories, proofreading, generating interaction with users such as real-time polls, or developing community-oriented content-information that is taken from people surveys responses. Evaluates the success of web work, including setting key performance indicators, monitoring visitor statistics, feedback and participation. Daily interaction with Executive Producer and Newscast Producers is needed. Candidate remains informed of industry trends in web development and current news and information. Continuously develops knowledge and technical understanding of on-line editing systems.

• Bachelor's degree on Journalism or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5+ years experience as a web editor.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed, including the ability to write effective and compelling articles in Spanish.
