Search for Director of Development - Unscripted Programming jobs in Burbank-CA
Mission Control Media, producers of NBC's Emmy-winning ''Hollywood Game Night'' and Syfy's #1 series ''Face Off'' are seeking an experienced Director of Development to offer creative and organizational support to the MCM Principals and SVP of Development in developing and selling new unscripted television projects.
Tasks
· Create new concepts for unscripted shows.
· Source talent to build projects around.
· Solicit, review and discern third-party pitches from agencies, production companies, producers, and/or talent.
· Write treatments and prepare polished presentations (pitch decks, one-sheets, sizzles, etc).
· Track projects in development, incoming and outgoing pitches.
· Spearhead research for projects, including locations, participants, hosts and possible segments.
· Give thoughtful notes on sizzle edits and incoming pitches.
· Interface with network executives, agencies and talent as requested. Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the MCM development team.
· Attend and participate in pitches as required.
Qualifications
· At least 5 years of experience developing and pitching as part of a non-scripted/alternative development team, or with a combination of developing and producing unscripted content.
· Strong writing skills and experience preparing treatments, presentation decks and sizzles for selling unscripted programming.
· Relationships with potential production partners, agents and networks, etc.
· An awareness of trends in popular culture, current affairs, talent, reality programming and the entertainment industry as a whole.
· A sense of high quality unscripted production.
· Strong grasp of all unscripted genres, but particularly formats and game.
· Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, to take on board and run with constructive criticism without concern for ego.
· Basic skills in shooting, editing, Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint.
· Organized approach to individual projects, and to managing multiple projects at once.
