Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Reporting To: Chief CIO, Colony Capital | Interim CEO, CFO & EVP of Finance, Miramax | VP of Strategy & Business Development, Miramax
Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will be the lead Colony Capital designee who will assist with the oversight of the Miramax investment. This role will be responsible for providing financial analysis, industry monitoring, reporting and underwriting potential acquisitions/new initiatives for both Colony Capital and Miramax. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will have a broader role supporting Colony Capital endeavors in the media and entertainment sector. This individual will be reporting to and interacting with seasoned C-Level officers and executives at both Colony Capital and Miramax.
Responsibilities
• Evaluate the financial merit and structure of potential transactions, initiatives, acquisitions and other projects on behalf of Miramax and/or Colony Capital
• Provide financial analysis, industry monitoring, reporting and underwriting
• Support strategic and operational initiatives through financial modeling and strategic analysis
• Facilitate new business development in working with business unit leaders
• Creation and maintenance of earnings, valuation and industry models
• Research and prepare reports with a company or media and entertainment sector specific focus
• Ad hoc analysis as required
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree, required in related field
• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting or other heavily analytical role preferred; media and entertainment sector experience highly preferred
• Experience working effectively with seasoned C-Level officers and executives
• Proactive with proven ability to think creatively and work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment with seasoned media executives
• Superb analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
• Excellent people skills, strong team-orientation, and a professional and enthusiastic attitude
• Highly proficient Excel and PowerPoint skills required; must be able to deal with complex models and presentations on time sensitive issues
• Superior communication and presentation skills
• Experience with film and TV financings would be beneficial
