Position Title: VP, Television
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Reporting To: EVP, Production & Development
Summary
The VP of Television will be responsible for generating series concepts derived from the Miramax Library as well as original series concepts, taking pitch meetings, assessing and communicating the viability of potential projects to the EVP of Production & Development. This role will assist the EVP of Production & Development in managing the development and production of series and limited series produced by Miramax and partners.
Responsibilities
• Support entire creative process from concept to completion; acquisitions and all 3rd party proposals in Television
• Identify talent, bring in and pitch, and set up pitches
• Take developed material to market with end goal of finding partner(s)
• Identify and track opportunities for acquisitions of 3rd party Television projects
• Manage relationships with the creative community (writers, producers, and performers), agents and managers with the end goal of identifying outside material and talent for Miramax Television projects
• Represents Miramax production concerns on all assigned projects
• Works with EVP to monitor budget and related production elements
• Lead the pitch/script development process
• Works closely with EVP and business affairs and other in-house departments to keep Television development and production information flowing smoothly
• Ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Film/Television Production and/or related
• Minimum 5+ years of development and production experience in network and/or cable television
• Extensive experience in series Television development and production, with some film background
• Deft communication skills required to balance the creative and economic needs of the company, talent, third party studios and others
• Strong relationships within the talent, producer and agent/manager community, and a strong understanding of format and concept development
• Superior multi-tasking between projects in various states of production
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
