Position Title: Analyst, Participations & Residuals
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Reporting To: Director, Participations & Residuals
Summary
The Participations and Residuals group is responsible for preparing and delivering royalty reports to all its third party participants for its highly coveted library of 700+ titles. The Participations Analyst will ensure that all statements are prepared accurately and on a timely basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a P&R group at a major film/TV studio.
Responsibilities
• Prepare participation statements in accordance to contractual agreements
• Research and prepare reconciliations and analysis of financial data
• Enter existing deals previously done in Excel into the departmental database
• Provide support and document complex calculations for audit purposes
• Respond to participants and internal inquiries on a timely basis
• Draft third party contracts briefs
• Work closely with internal/external departments as it relates to statement preparation
• Recommend ways to improve upon existing systems and practices
• Ad hoc projects as required
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or related
• 2+ years of related experience required, preferably in P&R
• Strong financial statement preparation background required
• Must be experienced at reading legal materials and documents and have the ability to recognize and extract critical data and information effectively
• Strong analytical skills to identify issues and problem-solve effectively
• Effectively operate and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while meeting numerous deadlines successfully
• Must be able to work well independently and take ownership of projects
• Great communication skills with people at all levels, orally and written required
• Ability and willingness to learn new systems and concepts provided by training
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook and Access
